Hello once again !
Are you thinking of selling your mobile phone? an unwanted gift or unwanted free upgrade?
Read on............
My advice for the sale ofANY expensive item is this:
Always state in your description that you accept pay pal ONLY as the method of payment
Always state in your description that you will only accept payment from VERIFIEDaccounts
Ensure you state that you willONLY post to verified / confirmedaddresses
Never send your item overseas, stick with your own country
Always send your item recorded delivery / insured
REASONS
Someone i know wanted to sell his mobile phone on ebay, he listed it, allowed world wide bidders and all was going well until the last minute. He had a final winning bidder, wait for it......................... Who bid a whopping 597.00 for a bog standard Nokia phone !!! (that was without postage and packaging costs added)
This bidder was based in Canada, had no feedbacks and was not a verified / confirmed Ebay /Pay Palmember.
SO? you ask,
There's more,
This ebayer proceeded to ask via a really sweet emailif the phone could be sent to Nigeria (what is it with that place?) as she was to go there to work and the phone would be her constant companion in her lonely hoursblah blah blah
THE MORAL OF THE TALE
NEVER GET SCAMMED BY A SCAMMER, BE ONE STEP AHEAD.
FOLLOW THE STEPS SETOUT ABOVE
NEVER SEND ITEMS TO PLACES OTHER THAN THE VERIFIED /CONFIRMEDPAY PAL / EBAYADDRESS
ALWAYS REPORT ANY DODGY ACTIVITY IMMEDIATELY
OUTCOME
My friend luckily called me, he wasin a state of shock, didnt know what to do.I was able to tell him he'd been"HAD" ,but it wasnt too late. He thencancelled her bid, reported her to Ebay (who confirmed it was indeeda scam) Herelisted his phone and later sold it for a more realistic price and no harm was done. The Scammer was booted off Ebay.
HAPPY
